In
order to do more at work and in our lives, first we must “be” more.
Business of Being coaches executives, leaders and professionals
to expand consciousness and authenticity and to thereby strengthen their lives
and work. By deepening our “being” and bravely journeying inside, through the
fear and resistance, one discovers clarity, strength, sense of purpose, courage,
compassion, creativity, and the path to embracing uncertainty and mystery.

There is a natural flow between investigating one’s values and purpose, bravely looking within to reveal inconsistencies, making more powerful choices through deepening consciousness, and moving toward living and working in alignment with one’s deepest longings.
We can change. We are living systems with the same capacity to adapt and grow that is common to all life. When we change, our world changes. Others sense our courage, determination, and authenticity. The cycle of growth into deeper consciousness inspires us personally, those around us, and the work that is born of our efforts.

Business of Being invites you into a one-on-one coaching relationship. We meet typically twice a month, at your office, at my office, by phone, or some combination of these. Brief phone calls and/or emails in between sessions are welcomed.
Business of Being Strategic Planning
Business of Being offers Strategic Planning consulting for publicly held corporations, privately held enterprises, and not-for-profit organizations. The work of creating and implementing vision and plans is grounded in collaborative processes based on trust, respect, strength and honesty. This may take longer and be messier than processes which focus on “getting others to change” -- by nicely enticing them, or by reverting to power and fear as a stick. Nevertheless, the path of “being the change”, the path of partnering, innovating, and empowering yields significantly more robust and creative results.
Retreat Leadership and Spiritual Direction
Business of Being leads retreats for personal and corporate renewal and deepening. A retreat to engage our own and the collective spirit often precedes creating or updating a Strategic Plan.
Ann is a Spiritual Director offering personal and small group spiritual guidance.
Leadership Forum
Business of Being and Servant-Leader Associates, James S. Emrich, Principal, are partnering to create a Transformational Leadership Forum for diverse groups of senior executives. This program will be available in late 2004.

Business of Being’s Origins
My Masters in Business Administration (Finance) led to a 28-year career in three major corporations in Strategic Planning and Business Development. While there were multitudinous intellectual and life style benefits and much success, I was increasingly unsatisfied. My expanding consciousness was not consistent with the person I thought I had to be at the office. I was living divided. And so I left, ready to seek something more.
Two months later, my husband died suddenly. With the surrender of my professional identity and the loss of my beloved husband, I turned fully to the spiritual life. Then possibilities emerged to integrate business and wisdom through engaging the growing perspective on the nature of conscious leadership and business processes based on respect, trust, integrity, authenticity, and not manipulation, control and self-interest.
Before I assumed that authenticity and business were separate; that is not the truth. We can live and work where one’s passion meets the world’s need. We can work consciously at the intersection of business, leadership and wisdom. We hunger to be this way. The world needs us to.
